    Module 1 – INSTRUCTOR-BASED TESOL TRAINING: 37 Hours

    During this section, you will receive full instruction from the trainer and are expected to actively participate to maximise the learning experience. The module contains 14 core TESOL topics. Inquire for more information about our 9 Learning Objectives & Outcomes: Inspire TESOL Course.

    • Interactive Sessions with Trainers – Engage in face-to-face (or online course mode) classes designed to inspire and challenge you through a comprehensive curriculum.

    Module 1 – EXTRA READINGS: 10 Hours

    You are supported by a comprehensive Student Manual, along with website and video resources to explore throughout the course. These materials reinforce key concepts and remain a valuable reference even after completion.

    Module 1 – TEACHING PRACTICE HOURS: 8 Hours

    At the end of select sessions, you’ll apply lesson planning steps followed by practical teaching exercises, with your trainer providing observation, guidance, and coaching. Use this time, along with independent practice, to refine your teaching skills.

    Module 2 – ESP (English for Specific Purposes) MASTERY TOPICS x 2: 80 Hours

    This section can be taken before or after Module 1 and requires you to complete 2 out of 18 ESP Mastery Topics. It is delivered online through guided research slides, encouraging independent study and deeper exploration of specialised areas in English language teaching.

  • The only requirement for joining our TESOL course is a strong command of English.

    Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

    • IELTS: Estimated band score of 6.0

    • Academic Background: A degree in a major where English is the primary medium of instruction.

    If you do not meet these criteria, you can book a FREE Proficiency Test with one of our friendly trainers, conducted online or in person, to assess your English level.

  • To successfully complete the Inspire TESOL Course, trainees must meet six core requirements and competencies, grouped into three main categories (see below). These apply to both Module 1 and Module 2, across both online and in-class delivery.

    Where relevant, details include exam formats, answer styles, word count expectations, deadlines, pass/fail criteria, scoring, and the level of feedback provided.

    For consistency and transparency, all trainees may request the Assignments, Coursework & Standards Policy for further clarification.

    Six Core Requirements:

    1. Core Topic Course Hours: Trainees must attend all live sessions covering 14 core TESOL topics, which is a requirement to completing the 135-hour CPDSO-accredited course.

    2. The Four Module 1 Competencies: To successfully pass Module 1, trainees must complete four key competencies:

    I. Pronunciation & Grammar Proficiency – Demonstrate clear communication and instructional English proficiency suitable for teaching ESL.

    II. Theory Exam – Display understanding through an exam on key concepts from the 14

    core topics in the Trainee Manual, provided upon enrolment as part of the 135-hour Inspire TESOL course.

    III. Lesson Plan – Analyse pages from typical ESL student books, extract key information and apply methodologies, techniques, and approaches covered in the course.

    IV. Teaching Demonstration – Deliver an engaging lesson applying the methods and techniques learned, assessed by an Inspire Trainer.

    3. Module 2 ESP Mastery Topics (x2)

    Trainees engage in guided research and self-study on two English for Specific Purposes

    (ESP) topics (e.g. Teaching Teenagers or Teaching IELTS and TOEFL. This enhances specialised teaching skills and strengthens employability in targeted ESL fields. It is included as part of the 135-hour CPDSO accreditation requirements.
